New System Build + AMD R9/R7, Mantle, and Gameplay Recording

I'm building a new rig in the upcoming weeks and I have some questions regarding not just the build but also about AMD Mantle, the new R9/R7 line of GPUs, and Fraps vs. Dxtory vs. capture cards vs. alternatives for game play recording. I figured I'd compile the questions in one thread.

Priorities: Gaming (mainly BF4, also SC2, DayZ, Titanfall, GTA V) > game play recording > game play editing

Build: (aiming for ~ $1100-$1400)

OC'ing?: Yes

CPU: i7-4770k ($340) OR FX-8350 ($200)
Mobo: ASUS Z87-A LGA-1150 ($140) OR ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 ($130)
GPU: XFX Double D Radeon HD 7970 GHz ($350) OR New R9 card... awaiting prices/benchmarks ($400-$500?)
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X series 2x4 GB DDR3 1600: $72
System Drive: Kingston HyperX 120GB: $90
Storage: WD Black 7200RPM 1TB HDD: $90
PSU: (suggestions ~750w? Is it worth the extra money for going above 80 plus bronze? ~$75)
Cooler: Corsair H80i ($87) OR Corsair H100i ($110)
Case: CM Storm Scout 2 Adv. (already have it)
Total: ~$1100-$1400

CPU + Mantle: I'm undecided on the CPU because of AMD's possession of the next-gen consoles (optimization for AMD 8-cores?) and AMD Mantle (does it work better/at all if you have an AMD GPU but an Intel processor?) Would the i7-3770k still trump the FX-8350 after any Mantle benefits and in tasks like video editing?

GPU + Mantle: Do you think it's worth waiting for the new R9 series and skip the 7970? Is Mantle R7/R9 only?

Gameplay Recording: I'm thinking of going with Dxtory, just wanted to see if there was any compelling reasons to go with Fraps, a capture card, or an alternative?

Thanks a lot in advance guys :)

Solution
Mantle should work with all CPUs since it an API for the GPU only. Mantle is meant to be for ALL GCN (Graphics Core Next) GPUs, so should work with the 7000 series cards.

If you decided Intel it might be a better idea to go for the haswel generation. I.e. the i7-4770K. The old LGA 1155 socket used on the 3rd generation processors is now a "dead socket" so it seems unwise to invest in that. Just a suggestion. If you do decide to do that then you will need a haswell compatible mobo.

As for PSUs, yes go for the 80+ rated ones. This 3 main brands you want to go for are Seasonic, Corsair and XFX. If you get a shoddy PSU it could damage your whole system, better to spend a bit more for something high quality :)

@ 1s3ct0wN: Thanks for the info, though I probably won't be streaming.

@ Ronaldspiers Thanks, I'll update the CPU and the mobo choice. Though on the PSU, I was unclear, should I be content with 80+ bronze or should I go for a silver or gold?

80 plus bronze will be fine. Just stick with Corsair, Seasonic and XFX as brands.

For recording your best bet on a software will be Mirllis Action!, iv'e tried it, its crisp clear and doesnt need a lot of ressources, so you can play games without the software eating up your pc.
For the Cpu, i would go for a AMD as they are easier to overclock, they are cheaper, they are better for streaming, and then you dont have to find another motherboard.
The GPU, go for 2 7970 not a single 280x they price might be just above, but the performance nearly double's.
For the power supply pick a 750W Corsair TX750, its reliable, good price, and performs great.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes im not the best in English :D
