Lose power cable, how do I fix it?

Hello!

I've had a PC for around 10 months now. Everything has been working properly, but one thing has been bothering me lately. A few days ago, my brother accidentally touched the power cable and it shut down. While I was putting it back in, I noticed that it's a little loose. People have told me that this may affect performance and that using electrical tape to secure it is a good idea. If possible, I'd like to avoid replacing the PSU. I'm not really sure what I should do.

Hi
The problem is more likely the plug than the socket a different power cable would probably fit better.
If you want to go the tape way then wrap a single layer of tape around the barrel of the plug that fits into the socket and try,if it is still loose add another layer until it is a tight fit.

Thank you. I'm relieved it's not the socket. I'll buy a new power cable soon.
