Being a BT broadband customer, I occasionally watch some BT Sport live broadcasts on my Desktop PC which is situated in a spare upstairs room. I would like to be able to display the picture on the family DTV which is in the downstairs lounge, but I am currently having a problem doing so. My wireless home network allows content on my PC's HD to be displayed on the DTV, but I cannot work out a way of displaying streaming video. I also have a 25m long HDMI cable that links the PC to the DTV, but once I connect the two, I have no way of controlling what is displayed on the DTV using the PC mouse, as I can obviously not be in two places at once. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In general what you want is called a KVM but since you already have the video part you need only one that will extend the keyboard and the mouse. There are so many of these products on the market it is tough to even know the difference many times.

Since you have 1 hdmi cable you should be able to run ethernet or whatever else the KVM box needs, they do make ones that run over your network but tend to cost a lot. They also make USB extenders that will run the USB past the 15ft limit. They can't run really fast but for a mouse you do not need much. Pretty much they are a USB port on one side and cat5 ethernet on the other. The one I saw required its own cable.
