I've been searching the internet for weeks now looking for the best possible parts for a $1500 dollar gaming PC, and now I think I have planned exactly what I want. Please read the build below, and if you have any further suggestions or issues feel free to leave a comment below.

Item:
Case- Corsair 400R ATX Mid Tower Case $85.00
CPU- Intel Core i7-4770K Processor $320.00
CPU Cooler-COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO $35.00
Motherboard-ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150 Intel Z87 $150.00
Video Card- AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Ram $300.00
PSU- 900 or 1000w 80 plus gold certified $100.00
Storage- WD 1TB black hd $70.00
Memory- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) $100.00
Optical Drive- Sony AD-7740H-01 DVD writer $20.00
Monitor- 1920x1080p 24 inch monitor $150.00
Software (windows 8 and word student priced) $150.00
USB Wireless adapter $10.00
Total: $1,490.00

Extra info- Only thing I'm missing is an SSD. PC games I plan on playing next year are as follows: Titanfall, Civ 5, Total War: Rome 2, Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 4, Arma 3, and of course many more when the steam sales go into effect. I do plan to crossfire two AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB GPUs in the future. Do you think my performance will be affected very much by not having an SSD, and which brand makes the cheapest/best SDD? As far as the psu and monitor goes, the prices are constantly changing on those so I'm going to wait until the final few days before I order to pick specific models for those categories.

Solution
Looks like a solid build!

Keep your eye on http://www.techbargains.com/ for current deals on SSDs. Samsung is the leader in the SSD game, followed by Intel, Kingston, etc.

I'm not so sure you can get much more powerful than the build I listed above for that price, but I'm interested to see what you will come up with.

Here it is, better parts and in a year you can sli it for a cheap price and get almost the same performance as a titan.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Although the case Razer listed might be better for its price then the one I have now, but its only $10 dollar cheaper so not really worth it.

Thanks for the effort, but I think I'll stick with what I have except for the storage and case. I would much rather an 280X over the 760 just because its a good bit faster and AMD has some nice game optimizations coming to their GPUs like Mantle.

Did you look at the motherboard, case, and ram?

AMD's crossfire is pretty bad and with a 760 at least he can sli later on and get good performance for gaming.

2x better wasn't meant to be taken literally..

The motherboard does not seem much better than the one that is in my current build, and from what I've heard, RAM speed does not make a difference in games for the most part. Ill probably switch to the case you suggested though.

haha...sorry to take it literally, but still, I don't see improvements. Case doesn't effect performance here. RAM difference literally won't make a single % of difference. Sure OP can SLI later, but I think he wants the performance now. "AMD's crossfire is pretty bad" is pretty relative.
