Which WIndows 7 Version should I go with?

I am trying to figure out which Windows version to go with. Prem, Pro, Ultimate.

I dont manage a business or need business stuff. Media Center and Gaming. Need Microsoft Office, but dont think that plays into which version of Windows to get. Can some of you give me input?

Personally, I believe the lowest level to be properly workable is Home Premium.

+ 1 to above. Either Premium or Pro. Depending on the RAM you which to work towards.

What do you mean by ram? I have 2x4GB g skill 1866 cl 8. My signature has my specs.

Professional supports more RAM than Premium. 16 on pro VS 8 on Premium... I think

Could be wrong, going by memory now.

Okay so if I got PRO, I could go up to 16 if I wanted. Now as far as, which Pro do I get? There is Full, SP1 and SP1 (3 Pack). Whats the differences?

My Home Premium runs very quickly on 8Gb and frankly, for the usage you describe in your original post, Pro would be way over the top.

So Premium has full usage with Windows Media Center? Also, does it go up to 16 ram or only 8? I may down the road want to go to 16. Does it matter whether its Pro or Prem for OC'ing or dual Video Cards?

Whats also the difference in FULL, SP1, and SP1 (3Pack)?? Each version has these options...
