Limited internet access?

So, my problem is that all the time, when I am using my laptop, my wireless network switches to "limited access" and I can't use the internet. I have to completely restart it to get it to work again. The weird thing is, at the same time my desktop, which is connected through an ethernet wire, has perfectly fine internet. I have had this problem previously with my old router, so I don't think it matters. My internet comes from comcast, my laptop is from hp, my desktop is custom built and my router is the WD My Net N750, if any of that matters. Is it just my laptop or is there something that I need to do so that this doesn't happen? On a sidenote, my router has a 2.5 GHz and a 5GHz band. For some reason none of my computers can detect the 5 GHz one, no matter where they are, I'm not sure why, but if you can help with that it would be great.

Solution
This (limited access) is commonly a problem with old wireless adapter drivers. Note the model of your laptop and go to the manufacturer's site. See if there are updated drivers for your laptop. I have fixed this specific issue related to antiquated Qualcomm drivers simply by updating to the latest version.
