Win XP Home : When i open Windows Explorer, the default view has "My Documents" drop-down list. I don't want that. I want the "My Computer" section to be the open drop-down.

How do I change that forever and forever ... as opposed to having to forever and forever re-click the view every time Explorer opens?

ALSO: I never use the My Music or My Photos subfiles; how do I erase them forever and forever?

Thanks. Appreciated.

Thanks for your info. Unfortunately, MS's way of operating is to give (what must be quite wonderful) technical details/info, but telling one nothing about how to apply it ... guess it's that MS belief that anyone qualified to use their products already has all sorts of a priori knowledge to be able to translate their "help" ... which I don't.

So, though the link you provided looks to have all sorts of optional solutions, I haven't a clue about how to make them work.

Thanks again.

Right click on your desktop, goto new / shotcut and enter "Explorer /select,C:\TestDir\TestApp.exe" for example. Safe the shortcut with a name of your choice, MyComp for example. The knowledge base describes the options you can fiddle around with.
For the My Music and other directories: just delete them.
