Hello all,

Just purchased to what I figured was a simple swap and insert...

Except it's not being recognized.

It's currently on Windows 7 Ultimate.

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/specs/VGCRC210G_mksp.pdf

Motherboard is a Intel Prague unit (version escapes me at the moment, I'll post again at a later time as I'm not near the computer in question...) BIOs was updated to the Vista driver.

Utilizes two 512MB PC2-4200 533mhz DDR2

Seems like a relatively easy swap and from what Google tells me, it supports up to a max of 2GB on this motherboard with each slot able to max out at 1GB.

So I purchased this:

- Komputerbay 2GB 2X 1GB DDR2 533MHz PC2-4200 PC2-4300 DDR2 533 (240 PIN) DIMM Desktop Memory CL 4

RAM gets swapped out and everything *should* be working.

System doesn't POST though and only beeps. It doesn't matter which slots I stick it in, system simply doesn't read it and there doesn't seem to be any BIOs setting regarding RAM. The only thing that I can see that MIGHT be an issue is that the new pair of sticks are low profile DDR2. Still, from what I can see, the specifications that the motherboard calls for means it should be able to read it though...

Thoughts?

I don't think DDR3 works on this computer...

That and it's still cheaper to try making this computer a bit more usable than getting a completely new system.
