Where can I find a place with accurate information on which is the most powerful CPU (GPU's too) for my budget?
At first I was naive and I took the ratings on passmark for gospel. But now that I'm on this I see that they are frowned upon as they have lots of user based information which can be tainted due to overclocking etc.
So where could I find reliable and accurate benchmark results or comparative reviews?
Incase you guys are wondering it's for gaming my rig is really out-dated now so i need a new one.
Thanks for any help

The number one best place to find relative performance ratings is at TechPowerUp. They are really good for GPU's and pretty good for CPU's. As opposed to just about any other site, every chart that you see on TPU is done on the exact same setup with the latest drivers on an unmatched suite of 18 gaming benchmarks. Even something like the Anandtech bench has unknown drivers, very likely out of date ones used in their original review. TechPowerUp has my vote as the most reliable review site with convenient summaries for a quick snapshot of relative performance.

Yeah, I generally rely primarily on Techpower.com. I used to go to Xbitlabs.com in the past, but the quality of their reviews, though still good, are not as good as they used to be.

Techspot.com does CPU benchmarking for some games. Basically they take a card like the GTX 680 and match it up with many different CPUs to provide performance benchmarks. For example:

thanks for the info guys. I did check here on the site but as far as i could see with a quick glance around they only had a years GFX card chart which stopped in like 2011 for some reason. im guessing they started the monthly updates back then. I was just on the verge of making the stupid decision to invest in a card that was on passmarks ratings board.
Thank you all :D
