Windows 7 won't launch after HP G72 laptop memory upgrade

I recently upgraded my HP G72 64 bit laptop from 4 gb to 8 gb of RAM. After the upgrade, Windows 7 (64 bit) won't launch. It throws me out to the Windows Error Recovery Screen and gives me two options: Repair or Start normally. Either option puts me in a never ending loop back to the Recovery screen. The weird thing is that the BIOS recognizes the new memory and memory diagnostics check returns no errors. I put the original 4gb RAM in and it boots and launches Window just fine. I have spoke with HP and they say the RAM I am using (2X4GB Corsair DDR3 10600) should work. I also tried Patriot. I can enter the WIndows 7 diagnostics menu by pressing F8 or F5 and select Memory Diagnostic and it completes with no errors. My laptop works fine with 4gb of RAM but I wanted to upgrade just because I can. Now it is a puzzle I need to solve! Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dean

I have the same problem with my HP Elitebook 8440p. System, like yours is Windows 7 (64 bit) with 4Gb of RAM. I also tried to upgrade to 8Gb with recommended memory from a forum I found online. Same Recover/Repair loop as you. Did you ever figure this out?
