can I use a bare hdd in my desktop?

To boot a 3tb drive there are a few things that must be there for it to work correctly.
1) You must have a UEFI Bios, Or newer BIOS that supports and is 3tb aware.
2) You must be running a x64 OS such as Windows 7 x64.
3) Hard drive must be GPT partition.
