I know the most common recommendation is a Corsair CX 430 for a budget PSU. But is there anything even cheaper that a) wont explode and b) will run at the specificed wattage?

Solution
You get what you pay for at that price..I would rather spend money on the psu now, even at the cost of a dedicated gpu at the moment (something that can easily be added later), than having the psu "explode" and take out everything.
http://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-ATX12V-S12II-430-BRONZE/dp/B002A17OG0/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1380430389&sr=8-10&keywords=seasonic+psu

I found this one for around $50 on amazon, it is from a reputable brand, although you should also research it more to make sure the product line doesnt have any inherent issues

Same price CX series are not that good, even though Corsair is Seasonic brother/sister company, and those two and XFX are the three top power supply companies out there. You should have no problems with this one. Also please remember to select the best solution so that others may learn from this thread. Thank you for your time.
