I've lost my ac adapter to my hp simplesave model MD2000h external hard drive. I know it is 12V and 2A and when I plugged in an adapter with those specs, the HD did not power up. Do I have to use the right wattage? If yes, how would I find out? The HD has no specs written on it and forget about the HP support sites! I just don't want to blow the poor thing up.

not a solution and another week past with no ac power adapter for the hp simplesave md2000h.
The hp store does not sell it because it is considered a part and they don't sell parts. The parts hp store can't sell it because they don't "Make" them and I need to contact the manufacturer of such whose name he does not know. I feel like shooting down the whole hp twisted up online garbage whose help is nothing but dumb wits making their 10 bucks an hour.
