Hi everyone. i have this MB: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LEUSB3/
my bios version is 0504 which is only available for this MB: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LE/

A little less than a year ago ,I took my pc to repair shop and since then I have this version..could it be that they made a mistake an installed the wrong version? could this be the problem why can't I make my new gtx 660 to work?

should I update my bios to current version?:http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&s=39&m=P8H61-M+LE%2fUSB3&os=&hashedid=EDiQcxA2fdJMgJWC

i really doubt that they would have changed the BIOS chip without tell me..is there any way i can check? ..I bought a new MSI gtx 660 and LC Power 600. and when i install the drivers the pc freezes after the windows logo..

It doesn't look like a BIOS issue.
You can check by updating to a newer version for P8H61M_LEUSB3. If the BIOS chip is for LE, it would not update.
Now, regarding the issue, what driver version using? Have you tried an older vresion? Have you uninstalled the older drivers? Can you reinstall Windows?

I just tried with the old one(gtx 550 ti). it booted fine with no drivers installed. then i installed the driver from cd (275.89) and restarted the pc. after windows logo screen went black, monitor into sleep mode and the pc rebooted. after this reboot, screen went black again after windows logo but i could hear the windows sound at the beggining ...
so with no drivers installed i get the signal and the picture. after driver installation and reboot, I get the black screen, or pc freezes and restarts..should I try bios update?

I'm using LC Power 600W...Yes i know it's not the best PSU...I have also tried all video ports - HDMI, DVI , D-SUB,...all the same..I'll update BIOS when I get back from work...will it be ok if I stick to this manual?:http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20070215223109668&board_id=1

Not sure if you solved the problem. I had a similar problem recentlyt, so I downloaded the drivers and BIOS 4601 from ASUS https://www.asus.com/support/Download/1/39/4/17/EDiQcxA2fdJMgJWC/30/ After that it worked fine, can even overclock. Good luck.
