Why doesn't my laptop's i7 processor throttle, even at 90 degree Celsius?

Today, I stress-tested my laptop (Asus K-55VM) with Prime 95, for a few minutes. WIthout the turbo boost, the temps were at 66C. With the turbo boost turned on, the core temperature shot up to 90C within a minute, still no sign of throttling. (These temps are recorded while the laptop is on a cooler stand.)

The processor is an Intel Core i7 3610QM. The TjMax is around 95C, I think. Even at 90C, there is no sign of automatically turbo boost turning off. Is the turbo boost feature caused to self-destruct the processor? 90C constant is a serious temperature, for the processor, and for the mainboard!

[I remember, my old HP Pavilion DV6845TX self-destructed the mainboard after a 30 min video rendering session at 85C. So that's why I always turn Turbo Boost off in this laptop during video rendering, else the temps shoot up to more than 80C constant.]

What is the use of Turbo boost, if it can't control itself properly? Can you please help? Thank you.

my laptop i7-2670qm with a gt540m reached 100C during gaming, that was the point where the cpu started to throttle, the gpu started at 105. im using a cooling pad now and im gaming on it for a few hours a day for ~2,5 years and its still fine.

I think the TJ Max on most intel chips is 105. I know it is in alot of the newer desktop chips, and that is what it is in the old Core 2 Duo T9800 in my laptop as well. I average 80 or a little higher when gaming and have never had any issues.

The first 2 years I had this thing i was gaming on a T6600, ran maybe 75 max, upgraded to the Core 2 Duo T9800 a couple of years ago though, runs hotter, but still not throttling.
