120Hz Monitor says "Input Not Supported."

I just got an Acer GD235HZ and I tried to put my screen refresh rate to 120 Hz in the Windows control panel and once I click apply the screen pops up a message box that says Input Not Supported. I'm pretty sure it's supported because my DVI to DVI cable is the only input that shows up with the 120 Hz option. I also have another monitor next to it that only runs at 60 Hz. Help is appreciated.

What do you mean by "I'm pretty sure it's supported because my DVI to DVI cable is the only input"? If it works with the Dual Link DVI-D cable, why are you not using the Dual Link DVI-D cable?

Of all the connection types there are for the monitor, only a Dual Link DVI-D connection supports 120hz due to the nature of the other connections.

I am currently using a dual link dvi but when I apply the 120 hz refresh rate it says the input is not supported and other times it actually applies the 120 hz but everything looks very jagged and almost impossible to read anything.

I have tried both DVI ports before on my Nvidia card but I haven't used another cable yet I will try another one now.

Don't forgot that the new cable must be a Dual Link DVI-D cable. Not all DVI cables are capable of that.
