Earlier today I attempted to update my graphics drivers for my Radeon HD 7450 because of an issue in a game with stuttering, that updating my drivers should have fixed.

However the installation failed repeatedly when trying to install the updated driver package (it simply said "install package failure", and eventually after exhausting my options I resorted to simply reinstall the driver I'd previously had, but that too failed. The system doesn't recognise the graphics card at all now.

So my question is what do I do now?
If someone could help me update to the newest drivers, then great. But honestly I'd be really happy to just get it back to how it was until I tried to update.

Cheers in advance.

Perhaps a dumb q, but have you tried completely uninstalling the AMD drivers...then re-installing the new?

do you have a restore point prior to the install of the new driver if yes then go for it uninstall the old amd driver then restart system and install new driver .

Ah jesus. I totally forgot about system restore. Yes, doing that has put me back far enough that the old driver actually works again.

I did try completely uninstalling the AMD drivers, but the newest version always failed when installing.

the driver are 13.9 check if you have the net framework 4.0 on your system that could be the issue for the install of the new driver .

I updated my .net framework, direct X and visual C++ whilst trying to install, but none of them helped and I still cannot get the newest driver to finish its installation.
