Hi guys,
So in my upcoming build I'm rocking a lot of good quality components and now I'm deciding on audio peripherals. I plan to get the Bose Companion 3 because although they are a year or two old, they produce amazing sound and are half the price of the Companion 5's which are $400.
I also plan to get the Sennheiser U320's. Mostly because I want a decent headset that is also compatible for the ps3 and my upcoming ps4, while maintaining good quality for PC. I've seen the PC363d's but for 300$ and to only be limited to computer use, i think that's a bit much.
Now, onto my initial question. I've heard a lot about sound cards and that if i have to ask, i don't need one, but i thought it would be good to ask.
I'm planning on the Asus Maximus VI Formula, and they boast their enhanced Supreme FX onboard audio. Is this good enough to make the most out of a good quality headset and surround speakers that I have chosen? Or, should I actually look into investing into a Soundcard?
It's worth noting that Im not a pro audio guy who will be working with music professionally. I game mostly, but I would certainly appreciate awesome audio for games, movies, etc.
Any input or feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
