Hi Y'all, I have a build that I've been using for the past two months and I suddenly found that my interface devices (mouse and keyboard) would not register in the cp. I know that this is a os issue because I have been able to use the mouse and keyboard in bios, reducing the chance that this is a hardware based issue. When at the logon screen, my mouse will not show up although I know that it is plugged in and working. Same with the keyboard although I noticed that if I were to hit the caps lock key on it, the light would not go off. Does anyone have the slightest idea as to how to fix this? Thanks.

Solution
This is most likely a failure of the xhci driver in win8 after a windows update. In your bios, disable xhci, and see if that lets you log in, at least. If so, try a rollback to when it worked, and re-enable xhci. After that, install your updates one at a time to find the one that breaks it, roll back, and hide that update.

I tried doing the xhci and it did not work. I did a system restore and found that after doing so, I was able to successfully log back in and use the keyboard. The last software I installed was MCafee Security Suite. Thanks for the help though!
