Large black spot on LCD laptop screen.

A friend of mine asked me to check out this problem with her laptop screen, I'm assuming it's a large amount of dead pixels from some sort of physical damage? Anyway to fix this or does the screen next to be replaced?

Looks like a broken display. Grabbing the lid when open, especially with thumb on screen, will cause this kind of damage. New screen time.

Only fix would be a screen replacement.

Thats caused by an internal liquid crystal leak. Probably from impact or pressure.
Either replace the panel or use an external monitor. And try to avoid it in the future.

Hey,

As others have mentioned this looks like damage to the LCD panel. To fix it you would have to get a new panel.
