Hey guys, Sam here.

I'm currently pricing up my next build and I've got enough money to go for a 2x8gb 2133Mhz Kit of RAM (G.Skill Trident X). The memory runs at 1.6v and I know that Haswell has RAM compatibility issues with voltages above (1.6v?). My question is whether or not running the RAM at (Not over) 1.6v is going to be a problem.

Thanks in advance,
- Sam

Solution
There's no compatibility issues, the 1.5 suggested by Intel is for the CPU at stock, with DRAM 1866/2133 and up a slight OC of the CPU may be required, doing so raises vCore (as well as MC voltage), so with the higher freq DRAM the voltages are fine, I normally stick with 1.5 up through 1866, at 2133 and up 1.6 or 1.65 is fine.....and by the way, you'll love the Tridents, beedn running those in my rigs and most all of my client builds since they brought them out

Awesome! Thanks for that :) Luckily I'll be doing OCing with my new PC, I'm going for the fully custom water cooling loop, so OCing isn't a problem. Thanks for replying quickly as well :) The Tridents also have the nicest heat sink, in my opinion, out of all RAM heat sinks. Ever. The colour also goes nicely with my build (Red and Black).

Yea. Every component is over priced here in New Zealand, although I find the RAM prices quite good. (The 16GB 2133Mhz Kit is about 1/2 the price of a Stock/Reference GTX 770, to show the price comparison.) I'll defiantly be doing a build log, I'll make sure to get all the parts before I assemble the System. I wonder how tall the part tower will be? ;)
