Is it possible to overclock it or not? I can't get it above the 3.16ghz which is top limit of the Turbo Core which goes from 2.7ghz-3.2ghz.

There has to be some way...aside from flashing the bios or something. There has to be someone who is a computer whiz and has figured out a way to get some more performance. I've upgraded the RAM as much as possible, and the hard drive, and cooling. I've overclocked the GPU to 1300mhz although it doesn't help much with gaming. I've tried to give it the most memory I can allocate to it..

Someone must know how to overclock it........If someone can explain how to do this safely. I may reward them 10$ in paypal or something. I don't have alot of money because I'm fighting an illness and have to pay for travel costs to the hospital but I'd reward someone who can give me safe and legit way to overclock and get better performance.

If it's not possible i'd like to know too so I can stop trying to waste my time overclocking it. lol. Thank you.

These APU's are used in the new gaming consoles. Is it possible for me to make a small gamng rig with APU's for home use? In a micro tower? Something that would be comparable to the current Playstation or X box? or maybe even the new ones? I'd be willing to spend about 800$ to build it myself?

Thx :)

Your processor is not made for overclocking, ones with a k after them are ex: A-10 6800k. The A6 is a bad option for gaming too. The APUs in consoles are much more powerful and the games are optimized to work best with them.
This is a better option:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($174.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($89.98 @ Outlet PC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($69.98 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($199.99 @ Microcenter)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($57.99 @ Microcenter)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 430W 80 PLUS...

This build would definitely handle next generation games, it also has plenty of room for upgrades.

Thank you Russel Johnson, you gave me a lot of details that I didn't know. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

What you wrote down is a very affordable but really nice sounding system for gaming and it sounds like it would be useful for quite a while. I'm actually going to copy all that info down and keep it because That sounds perfect.

And perhaps if I don't have the cash to get that for Christmas a newer better processor will be out. I'll have to remember to ask you what I should get when I have the money saved up.

I know I bashed this little notebook but it does everything it's supposed to do efficiently. It's not a bad notebook. I just am worried about ARMA 3, GTA 5 etc. We'll see I guess :p It is only a 399$ computer and i got a lot of value for that.

I'm definitely not put off of buying an APU in the future, I'm more interested than I would be purchasing a CPU.

Thank You Russel for your help.
