Hello, I recently built me a gaming rig. I have recently run into fps issues. In games where I once got 80fps in I now get 12-22 fps.

Here are some general specs:

AMD Vishera 6350 3.9ghz
PowerColor 2gb ghz 7870
Corsair 600m psu
8gb mem
Asrock 970 extreme4

Any clue on why the fps is low?
Games I play:
Starcraft 2
War thunder
Battlefield 3
Flight Simulator X

More about : 7870 2gb ghz low fps gaming rig

might check drivers, but may be the card itself is creeping, may want to pull the GPU, clean the contacts 9rubbing alcohol is good) and reinsert it, then see how it is

Hello Raulgrogovich,

Have you used any Benchmark software like heaven benchmark, Valley Benchmark ? Also what temps are your card on full load ? i would suggest you get CPU-Z, HW Monitor, Core-Temp ! their's a few more but i can't think of any right now as i just got into work and i need my Cup of Coffee or Coco :pt1cable:  PS did your card come with power up Tuner ?
Could you also tell us if you have OC your Card and what Psu your Running ? and like what Tradesman1 said have you up dated any Drivers for the card yet ?

What sort of settings are you using for your games ? i've got 2x of the 7870's in Xfire and i did have a few issues with Farcry 3 but once the Drives where up dated this was sorted but i turned off MMSA & SSAO, V-sync " Hmmmmm kind of left on" But turned off anisotropic filtering but only on Frycry 3 ! i have it on for Skyrim ! but to be honest i don't really notice much as im gaming on 1980 by 1080 untill i get my LG 29 EA93 screen! let me know how you get on and i'll try to help! but make sure you've updated your GPU DRIVERS and download some monitor software and get the AMD amd catalyst program to change settings on your card! it should work with your card! Hope this helps !

Ok ran the test again but now got this:

Fps: 30.4
Score 766
Min:7.3
Max:63.5

Also temp is 60°

I have MIS afterburner open and it appears my card is at 100% most of the time. :(  this seems very odd to me.

Seems like your card is having heat issues mate ! have you tired to manual control the Fan settings in MSI AfterBurner ?

Give that a go and let me know how you get on! i'll be going to bed soon so if i don't re-post is because of that okay!

in the mean time i would check to see if you can still send the card back to where you got it from and say its over heating for no reason and you've not OC it !

if however this is not the case and you can't send it back try getting some Thermal Compound and re-apply it to the card! be careful doing this mind as you don't want to Bugger up the card and to be left without one !

Have tried everything I know possible and don't know what to do. I have tried drivers, checked everything inside the computer, lowered graphics settings and don't really have good results. I think I might just wipe windows and try again.

Thanks for the reply. Should have been more specific with my word choice. Does the 6350 provide enough processing power. And I have only had the card for 2 months? Along with the entire computer though so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

Oh ya, I have turned every fan to 100%. No difference in fps. Going to reload windows today. Hopefully it's a virus or something.

Morning Buddy ! i don't think it's a Viruse thats causing the issue here mate ! if i was in your shoes i'd pack up the card and send it back! Stick to Gigibyte or Radeon !!!
let me know how you get on !

PS: when you turned up the Fans did the Heat drop below say 50c ?
