i7-4770k vs i5-4670k

As the title says,

I need help deciding on what CPU i should get for my gaming rig.

The main specs..

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB
MotherBoard: Asus MAXIMUS VI FORMULA
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1866

I could also go with an i7-3770k, but i would have to sacrifice my LGA1150 board for an 1155. Decisions, decisions.

To be honest, if you want top of the line Pc, then just take I7, why compromise when your rig is that expensive, you can certainly push another 30-40$ for the ultimate rig

I'd settle on the i5 unless you can make use of hyperthreading.

If you are into video editing then you would be able to use the extra threads but there are not many games that take advantage of HT.

The i5 is perfect. That 780 will rip through frames like Godzilla does to his enemies. now if you video edit WinRAR and 7zip a ton of s**t then yeah the i7 all the way. Have fun with the new system PC FTW!!!!!
