Cooler for i7 4770 under constant load

Hello! I'm building a PC for 3D-rendering and i've stopped on the Intel i7 4770 (non-K) for the job. The cpu is going to be under 100% load for long periods of time, so i need a cooler that would be able to keep it somewhere under 70C no matter what. Stock cooler is way too crappy with those push-pins so i'm looking at the Thermaltake Contac 21 as an option. Would that be enough?

I know the CoolerMaster 212 EVO performs best, but it's just way too huge to fit in my case (or most cases for that matter). Any suggestions are appreciated!

bummer you should have gone all the way for the K version its only 10 dollars more, you couldve clocked it someone else for you in a PC shop maybe? and you would have had a very very strong CPU.

Anywayz i know what you mean i have the same problem, gonna get a Noctua-L9i.

It performs very interestingly, plus you get a Thermal paste worth 15 dollars (so its really cheap), we cant stand the stock noise of the cooler...its HORRIBLE.

Are you planning to overclock?

Also, if space is a factor, you might want to have a look at AiO liquid coolers.

EDIT: Dang, overread you are not owning a k-version. Forget the first question. ;)
Also, you might want to check out those top down blower coolers (or whatever they are called). I hear Phanteks and BeQuiet have some pretty good ones.

Actually i haven't bought anything yet :p I'm looking at the non-K version because i'm not planning to overclock at all. It's just that i'm going to be leaving the cpu under 100% load for a long time (rendering), so i needed something that can handle it. Liquid cooling is guaranteed to work yeah, but it seems like overkill and it's kind of expensive.

@DragonChase - the Noctua L9i looks interesting, but it seems rather small? I know Noctua make some of the best coolers out there, but still... What kind of temperatures are you getting? Does it have that fancy active noise cancellation feature?

That's comforting to hear, though my ambient temperatures can sometimes get over 30C during summer, and i've had some low-end graphics cards shut down from overheating during those months.

So you're saying that having it working at 100% for hours wouldn't matter that much? The cooler you posted looks nice, but it still uses those nasty push-pins i'd like to avoid.

It won't make too much of a difference whether it's half an hour or several hours unless you have your case somewhere such that air can't escape the room and you're raising your ambients significantly. And the push pin thing completely slipped my mind, I don't know what your budget is, but here's one that's compact, will do the job even in 30C ambients, and doesn't use push pins (I don't believe):

That one looks very nice! Is it possible to turn off the LED? What about replacing the fans?
