Good Day,

I have done a bit of research on my processor. I think most of the AMD range use the Turbo Core as a standard enabled feature.

As far as I understand, this controls the clock speed by increasing and decreasing it according to what/when it is needed.

This saves power and keeps the chip cooler as it MAY overheat with the feature off using the stock fan.

My question is, will I get better performance with an after market CPU cooler and this feature turned off ?

No, you won't get better performance. If you disable the turbo, the cpu will run at a max of 3.5 ghz. if you leave it enabled it will go higher (up to 4 ghz I believe)

You can disable cool and quiet to keep it from going below 3.5 if you want, but unless you are overclocking it isn't recommended to disable either feature.
