I plan to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard, and a USB optical drive...

Once my PC is built and I turn it on for the first time, will my wireless peripherals and optical drive work?

The wireless mouse and keyboard use a USB dongle, and the optical drive is just USB 2.0 ...

(The mouse and keyboard was made my Microsoft btw)

I've not had any issues on a number of builds with Z77 and Z87 boards and a wireless mouse and USB stick for the Windows installer. I've not tried to install from a USB optical drive though, but it seems that it *should* work (you could always create a USB stick installer with THIS tool if you are using Windows 7 (there is a link there if you are using 8).
