So I have a problem, tryed to google but there is no recent problems with this.
Yesterday my PSU died (i had 550MS shit PSU) Today I replaced it and as there was no decent PSU-s i bought random 500W psu, and they said it should work without any problem.
But after i connected everything started PC and went to test Dead Island it went off after 2-10min, tryed 2x, twice it shuts down.
Then I ran dota2 and was spectating friend, and while i was doing that i was watching my CPU/GPU/Motherboard temps on 2nd screen (they were all pretty low and pc load was low) and it went off again after 10ish min.
Is it PSU problem? or did my old PSU frie something when it died?

My PC specs:

AMD athlon x4 740 3700turbo
8gb dd3 1600
1tb hdd
asrock cheap mbo
gtx 560ti twinfrozr3
forgot to add, 500w insertrandom name PSU (had 550w MS untill yday and it all run fine)

Try doing a stresstest or using a benchmark program like 3dmark and see how fast it will shut down, if you will notice it shuts down faster we have something to work with.

Yes it is possible your PSU fried it, thats why its important to invest in your PSU, picking a random one like you did now it not wise at all. If you can i would trade it in.

If you have onboard video-output then remove the GPU and lets see how it responds to that!.

Be sure to report back.

Goodluck!

Or even if it can provide the full 500W there's a chance it doesn't have enough power on the 12V rails.

I'd trade it in and get a considerably better PSU. Seasonic and Corsair are my recommendations. If you go for Corsair then do NOT get CX series, get at least TX.

I'd also get 550W or 600W, since PSUs tend to lose capacity over time.

Using CX in all computers now, best price/performance for me and it is a quality PSU, dont refer to older worse CX, thats past.

Didn't know they were upgraded.

In that case, feel free to get a CX then.
