I am running windows 7 on an asus all in one PC. I cannot do anything that involves drop down menus. Every time a drop down menu comes up it quickly goes so I don't have time to click on stuff. Pages flicker and when I try to type in a 2nd window the cursor disappears and deletes what i've typed. It not just on internet pages it within windows aswell. When I open processes I get *32 next to some of them, and had 2 chrome pages open but it's showing about 6, some with *32 next to them. I am in safe mode at the moment and it works fine.

You probably picked up a virus.....

hopefully you have system restore enabled....if so, get into it and select a restore point that you know everything works under and restore to it.

either way, PC Pitstop is an excellent site that you can use to scan your computer's health status

I have scanned with avast and malwarebytes, it said i had a trojan but I removed it and it was still there when i rescanned. I have also restored to an earlier date but problem was still there

Reformat is last resort. I have had numerous PC's infected and brought back to health without having to reformat, so this isn't the only way to "truly clean your pc".
