Hey, I am new to overclock. i went through some threads then i tried to overclock my gpu. i used AMD overDrive to overclock. I didnt notice that my gpu is factory overclocked. so i set gpu clock 1050 to 1100 and memory clock 1250 tp 1400 mhz and power control settings 20%. ( i have seen this setting one of the threads i have been going through today and it was for a 7850 card, minor changes on gpu clock)

I usually get 59-60 fps in farcry 3, it fluctuates in certain area and comes down to 42-50, 50-60, but usually while im driving i get 59-60 fps.

but when i overclocked and started farcry i was almost getting same fps. and between 2 to 5 min my screen got freeze *green* i had to shut down manually.

I am afraid that that whether it effects my gpu or not, btw im running good now, though i want to know if it brought any damages to my gpu or not. I am new to overclock and all these stuffs. so help me if possible.

one more information, my gpu never exceeds 68C in 100% load. and i couldnt get the chance while overclocking to see ther temp as i was able to play game 2-4 minutes.

You won't have caused any damage, that's just a part of overclocking. When you overclock anything you need to test for stability, I assume you didn't, the crash was just letting you know it wasn't stable. All you need to is reduce the speeds a bit and go from there. Also, your temperatures are fine.

as i overclocked my gpu for the first time and it got freeze, so will that effect my GPU? Thats what i am actually looking for. And the reason why it couldnt let it to be stable after overclocking it and why i didnt find any changes in performance. Thank You in advance.

I got your msg now, thnx mate :)

any over clock you move in small increments, you don't grab the slider and just shove it up a couple of hundred Mhz. a lot of times factory over clocked cards are at or near their limits to begin with. trying to push them farther will kill the card.

what happens when you set it back to stock settings?

as far as damage goes............. doesn't take much to brick a card. good luck.

Its fine now, i restored it to defaults. now everything is as before. i was worried if it brought any damages or not. i didnt notice that i bought OC version actually. and afaik factory OC'd can also be overclocked. is it true?

well i dont need to overclock now, as i was curious to see if it brings any changes in performance. so i did it.
