If the card is no longer under warranty and it is essentially broken I do not see a problem with trying to fix it if you have a soldering iron. Soldering can be a little nerve racking but with a few practice runs its really pretty easy to get a surface mount ceramic cap soldered into place. Now you can certainly destroy your board, but like I said with no warranty I would go for it.
Forgot to mention that depending on the parts age there is most likely something else wrong with your board. Caps do not usually blow for no reason so your efforts may end up being futile regardless.
