Hello everyone! I need some help building a PC so I thought it would be best to come to you guys!!

So back to the topic at hand, I need help. I need a new computer (desktop) for gaming because a laptop won't cut it. I honestly know nothing about parts and such but I'm looking to run games like Borderlands 2, Skyrim, BF3, Planetside 2, etc. On high to ultra settings. Now I might be able to expand my budget (budget is $750-850$) a bit to about $900, I really just need help on how to build the PC itself and what parts to get.

Thank you!!!

Right on. I'd recommend a Core i5 to build your gaming system around. Newegg is a good place to look for parts, while cross checking prices at tigerdirect/amazon, etc.

Hey thanks for replying! How much would a Core i5 cost do you think?

Do you need to buy an operating system in that budget?

If you don't need an OS, here is my humble suggestion:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock B75 PRO3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($82.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($62.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card ($349.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Zalman Z12 ATX Mid Tower Case ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer ($19.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $822.90
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Does the monitor need to be included in the budget? What else do you need in the budget (mouse, keyboard, speakers/headphones?)

Sorry to make your job harder but, pretty much all of those need to be put in the budget except headphones DX
