I've just come across this crazy deal, a 680 gpu for £228.06, its the Zotac one.. Why is it so cheap? Original price was £368.72. Are these cards any good? I'm seriously thinking of buying it.

thanks

it cheap because there trying to clear it out to make room for the 770 and 780 cards and in a few weeks amd dropping newer and faster gpu so these old cards are going to lose a lot of value in a few weeks.

But aren't the 780 cards really good atm? Do you think I should buy this or wait till brands like MSI, Asus and giga drop their prices? But I doubt they will drop it by £140 like Zotac. I'm really tempted to buy it, but I'm not sure if Zotac is good, haven't really heard about them :s Any opinions on Zotac?

Zotac is a good brand, granted it usually doesn't offer any extras like games or other stuff, but their cards are reliable and work as good as from any other brand.

Take a look at the specs for the new GPU's coming out and decide whether or not it feels like a requirement for you. If so, you can just hold off and buy the new stuff. If its passable, jump on that deal.

I really don't want to get the top end graphics cards for £500, I was going to get a 660ti as it would have been enough for me, but finding this deal, I just can't throw it away at such a cheap price.

I know how you feel. I've been saving up to build me a monster but in the mean time I grabbed me a laptop that has a 6770m in it. Not a beast by any means but plays most games I like on mid settings. The laptop (at the time) was $1100 new but I snatched it for $600. i7, 8GB RAM, 6770m, 750GB HDD....I wanted a laptop but didn't need it but I just couldn't pass up that kind of a deal.
