I have a lot of experience with the AMD FX series processors (i've overclocked my 6100 and a 6300, 8150, 4300, and 6350 belonging to friends of mine. (I urged them toward the processors due to my good fortune with mine) I'm upgrading soon to an 8320 though and i'm going to get a mobo upgrade as well (I have a gigabyte ga 990fxa ud3 rev. 1.1) and i wasn't sure if i wanted to get the new rev. 4.0 of my board because the 6300 i worked with was on one and it had the worst UEFI I've ever seen. (although i did get it oc'ed and stable at 4.7 GHz for him)

I'm just wondering if there is something of the same quality with a more friendly UEFI/BIOS (and not asus due to past experience with DOA)

any suggestions are welcome.

Solution
I use the Sabertooth Rev. 2 board @ 4.7 ghz. with Noctua DH-14 cooler

I also use an Asrock 990FX Extreme 9 @ 5.1 ghz. with Phanteks PH-TC14PE cooler

FX8350 \ 5.1GHZ. \ 1.384 VOLTS

Phanteks PH-TC14PE with Scythe Slipstream 110 CFM fans attached.
Well I guess you are unlucky I have only ones got a bad product in almost 2 decades of buying hardware and it was a HDD and still buying the brand! In any case I missed it Asus has the best UEFI so the Gigabyte board you mentioned would be my next choice.

thank you for the input. I'm not necessarily only looking for a uefi board just one with a 990fx chipset that has as good overclocking our better than the gigabyte. I think I'll probably end up just getting another gigabyte as I've had very good experiences with them.

I'm still open for suggestions and would love to hear some more opinions...anyone?

that asrock mobo looks pretty nice. I'll probably select this as the solution unless anyone else had any more opinions. I had wanted to see quite a few options and so far I have only 1.

Any more ideas anyone?

That's my whole deal with it. I just wish there was more variety when it came to 990fx boards... Well
I suppose I have my answer.I'll probably end up sticking with gigabyte but I may try out asrock for once. Thanks for the help guys.
