I would like to know what people think about this, get a slightly worse card but get 3 free games with it (bioshock infinate, crisis 3, farcry 3) or get the better card (around %16 better in benchmarks) Im really stuck on this one :)

More about : 7970 free games gtx 680 free games price

Those 2 cards are pretty close in performance, the 680 does have a slight edge. I've seen the 7970s for less than 300 bucks, with 3 games, it's a no brainer IMO. You can't beat the performance for that price.

If you will actually play the 3 games, the 7970 is the way to go. Pick up the GHZ edition with the 3 games and you will be plenty happy. There is nothing I have thrown at it that it cant run at 60+FPS on 1080p resolution. Sure benchmarks may be better on the 680 but that really makes no difference in playability.

The problem is the GHz edition is around £70-80 more expensive, the base clock version is no where near as good as the 680. If i could find the GHz edition for the same price i would go for than hands down.

Just get one that overclocks well, and overclock it and you will likely get GHz like performance

The regular version of the 7970 will go tit for tat with the 680, I'd stay away from buying OCd versions of cards anyway, because you can buy the base version and OC it yourself :-)

I don't trust Anand's benches 100%, but anyway you look at it, it is either better or just as good as the 680. There is great OCing software out there right now, so OCing would be easy... and at 1080p you won't see a difference between the 2 I guarantee it.

Well unless the prices are different where you are compared to the US, they should be about the same. Either way, the 7970 is the way to go. My friend has a 7870 and is able to get 60+ FPS in games like BF3 and Bioshock, etc.

Agreed, a lot of games these days seem to be optimized for AMD cards, and go for a 7970 and get the free games. If you can get the IceQx2 get it, if not find one that you can get that overclocks well

I don't recommend buying a GTX680 since it has been replaced with the 770.
And with the 7970 now around $290 with free games, it is sure a good deal.

quite of topic, but what intel motherboard would you suggest with a i5 4430 quad core processor. Im looking to spend around £60-70 ($113)
