I'm a designer by profession and therefore a mac owner. I'm also a minimalist and don't want more than one desktop computer in my house, so I've set up a boot camp windows partition on my drive. Now I need more space.
I got a Seagate Backup+ a couple of months ago.... a 4TB drive (I'm somewhat of a .... "collector"). I thought it might be nice to use the space, so I tried it. It turned out to be a nightmare. The drive had a tendency to randomly disconnect and reconnect every so often, frequently dropping me out of games and ruining progress. That was a dealbreaker for me.
I got a lot of advice that it was due to the instability of drives over 2TB in size. I was thinking of getting more advice this time around and finding a suitable, stable drive that I could game from when I boot over to Windows. I thought I'd check here for advice. Any suggestions on stable, good drives that could serve my purposes for the time being?
side note: I had no problems with the load times from the Seagate drive. They didn't bug me at all and performance was otherwise great. It was just the drive random disconnecting and therefore game crashing that bugged me.
