Nexus 7 as internet tether

Hey there I'm attempting to use my nexus 7 as a wifi tether on my computer and it was working just fine. We wake up today and it will connect but it will drop connection after about 5 minutes if that

No settings have changed from last night to now and the problem is becoming irritating

your mobile provider may be knocking you off the net if you go beyond the data limit for tethering, it may be tied to certain conditions in your monthly tariff. Just guessing there, of course. But your mobile network provider may be able to help you on that score.
Certainly worth asking them about it before looking elsewhere for the cause.
