Both are great mobos (same dilemma I was in), I gave the nod to the Hero, for the sound and think it OCs a bit better, either would be a good choice, (I also like the color scheme, already had the GSkill 32GB of 2666 Tridents picked out and the red/black of the Hero goes nicely

for you maybe the MSI Z87-GD65. It has special compatibility with your GPU. You can OC it easier and can control its fans and all. Take a look into it. I will be buying that and a GPU similar to yours.

What do think of MSI Z87 MPOWER?

At $200 is the Asus Hero, I chose that for my build after a lot of looking and about 20 client builds, at same price is the Asus Pro, at $170 is the Gryphon, I've mentioned Asus mobos as they seem to have the best handle on the Z87 chipset and Haswell CPUs, all OC well have good BIOS controls and handle DRAM well....I myself and most builders I know won't touch MSi for the poor QC they have

The Mpower is very nice. I see one problem with it to me. The heatsinks on it my interrupt installation of your own cpu heatsink. If it won't then the board is great. both boards aren't the "best" OC boards for their price but the GPU deal is nice.

The MSI MPOWER is a great board for under $200 - I have one on my bench table and have been testing the line since the Z77 Mopwer, pre-release. They are well made boards that offer great performance at a great pricepoint.

BTW I just have to ask this - how is it that since June 4th you have 11000+ posts - that is 93.3+ a day... I don't know how one could do that and carry on anything else. Plus I see you are mod - I would have thought Tom's would prefer having a presence longer than a quarter of a year for that... Not attacking, just questioning as it seems odd to me

Right off the bat, I always try and throw in and ending post to each thread, like "let us know how it goes" or whatever, also a lot of my post are DRAM issues (sort of a specialty of mine, been working the GSkill DRAM forums for a few years now, so trying to walk people through the problems just comes naturally and most reponses don't take long, less than a minute normally. Whenever I'm in my shop with rigs running, i.e. you do a build or bring something in with a problem, I'll run the updates, diagnostics, virus malware checks, etc, I'll pop up a TVshow on a screen on a rig and check email, work my books ( I have a systems consultancy as well as a small home remodeling business), and I pop out into the forums here and a couple others (I'm an Admin at GSkill) and I try and help folks as well as it helps me keep up with all the various components out there in the systems world. As far as a moderator, not sure how all it works, they approached me a couple weeks after I joined....Been in the systems world since 1980 and on my own since about 1998 when I left the USPark Service

The quality control they present seems poor to me, I won't build on them for clients, I get too many trouble calls on their mobos, DOAs, and component failure often within 30-60 days of delivery, i.e. a Sata port quits working or a USB port, trouble with DRAM slots etc
