I am going to build a new rig pretty soon and plan on overclocking. For my i7-4770k, I've heard that the highest safe temperature the CPU should be around is 70 degrees Celsius, but what should the max temperatures be for overclocking my 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM and AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU (basically a re-branded 7970 ghz edition)?

Solution
Generally for your standard system you want to keep the chipset and ram under 50'C but is safe at 60' if you're using anything higher than stock voltage. As long as you have at least one 120mm fan or a couple 90s near the board you should be alrite. The CPU is safest under 65'C and the R9 your getting has dual dissipation and according to reviewers is generally safest under 80'C. Anything over i'd be concerned about.
