best gpu for 720p?

im looking for a good gpu to pla games a 720p such as crsis 3 far cry 3 cod: bo2 battlefield 3 skrim etc.on maxed settings with a 60fps average i was initially looking to buy a 7950 but found out i have a 720p monitor

additional specs:
cpu: fx 6300
mobo: 990fxa GD80
ram:G.skills sniper series 8gb 1866mhz
ssd:1 20gb kingston
hdd: 1tb samsung somethin

All that means is, the lower your resolution, the higher frames you are going to get out of any card. So if you have a 720p the 7950 will allow for higher frames than one at 1080p. So in short, its still a great buy.

I just figured that the 7950 was a bit overkill for 720p because i read a few other forums saying even the 7850 is overkill so i wasnt sure
