I have noticed that my SSD is at 70 degrees Celsius, and on occasion hits 71, but no higher and not any lower than 70. I've only had it for 3 days or so. Is 70 a normal number?

Solution
I am not at home so I can´t post a screenshot (also I am not 100% sure) but I think when I open HWInfo or something similar, the headline above the SSD temperature says something like "difference from 100". So, when it say 70°C, what it actually means is 100°C - 70°C = 30°C.

I'm using corsair link to verify my temps for cpu, gpu, and HDD's, so I'm assuming they're being read correctly. I put Velcro under the SSD to keep it stuck in one place instead of a 2.5 holder. Could the Velcro make the temperatures rise?

also, i'm touching my SSD right now and I'm feeling no heat at all. feels really cool. Now im seeing the temp waver between 68 and 70. So i guess this is a good sign instead of it going above 70.

How do you figure 70 means 30? And I think these readings are correct, but i'm not positively sure.

funny you mention that. this corsair link i am using to check temps says exactly that. "Samsung Drive Difference from 100," and it displays the number 70 celsius. So you might very well be right.

Yeah, you are right som3one. I typed in the samsung drive thing on google and people were saying that samsung and some other company display their temperature gauge like that. so yeah, in my case my ssd is at 30 celsius. 100-70=30. thanks!
