hey guys so i am building a haswell system (i5 4670k) and i am using this memory http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0042A7CAA/?tag=pcp0f-20 but pcpartpicker says

(Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.) should i still use it?

thanks

No. I would use 1.5v RAM. That is older DDR3 1600 ( notice " Date first available at Amazon.ca: Jun 1 2011" ) and not the best match for Haswell.

You really want at least DDR3 1866 and really DDR3 2133 if you can afford it. Anandtech just did a very good article on Haswell memory scaling here:

This is the cheapest best match I see.

If you want Corsair brand. GSkill is just as good though.

1600 is basically entry level, with Haswell builds I start at 1866
