Hey guys

I want to sync my macbook calendar with my iphone's. I know this can be done with icloud and using my apple ID. However, I share the apple ID account with all my family and I dont't want them to have access to my calendar or it to sync to their mac's.

What are my options ?

Thanks in advance

If you want to maintain over the air live updating of calendars, your solutions are to either create a separate iCloud account (Apple ID) to use for your calendars, or find a calendar app that has both a mobile and desktop version and is capable of using iCloud to sync data. If you're the only person in your family that uses the application then it won't sync to their devices.

The other option is to manually sync your calendars using iTunes. Yon can do this in the "info" tab I believe, anyway there is a tab dedicated to syncing mail, contacts and calendars. This is disabled by default if you have iCloud enabled for calendars, so disable that so you don't duplicate your calendars and you will be able to copy your calendars from you iphone to Mac and vice versa. Note that you won't be able to update on the fly, and you will need to be connected to iTunes to sync calendars.

Hope this helped!
