Hi
I'm looking to upgrade both my mouse and keyboard for Battlefield 4's arrival. My mouse is a highly budget gaming mouse which has been ok, but nothing special. The keyboard I had was an original Blackwidow from 2 years back with blue Cherry MX switches.
I'm not too blown on features as I don't need a bucket of G keys as I don't play RTS or MMO games (at least so rarely that I would need them) - it just needs to feel good in the hand, respond to quick motion and also illuminate as I prefer playing in a dark room. Normally I would have just gone for a Blackwidow Ultimate 2013, however Synapse 2.0 is a pain sometimes and my last Blackwidow developed a fault with some of the keys - so I don't know whether to take that as a sign of Razer's quality issues or just assume it was a one-off.
In terms of Cherry switches, I've never tried anything other than Blue, but I ADORE the tactile feedback you get from them and I never found that you had to push the keys very far to get a response. I know Red/Brown are more sensitive, but from what I read, only about 5g, so is that really worth it to lose that lovely feedback? I live alone so there's no issue with noise other than possibly over the gaming headset - maybe that might require a switch to Red or Brown.
I was planning to wait for Roccat's new MK RYOS PRO lineup - but is it worth waiting or should I just grab something now from the current lineup?
When it comes to mice, I've no clue! - I wouldn't rule myself out of sniping in Battlefield 4, but I've been pretty rubbish at it so far in Battlefield 3 so I tend to prefer CQB.
Cheers!
