Do i need extra power supply unit for Sapphire ATI radeon 6670 1GB DDR5 Graphic Card?

I have Asrock G31 Motherboard
with 2.6GHz Dual core Processor
2GB of DDR2 RAM
and Power supply of 230 Output Voltage with 3A

What is the wattage of that PSU?

Also, what is the model of the PSU? Does it have a dedicated 12V rail?

You can try the one you got but Try getting a 400-500 PSU, they are cheap.

the 230 volts @ 3 amps is the input, not output.

In general a quality 300 watt power supply should take that card without issues.

The official AMD recommendation is to have 400 watts.

Since the HD6670 has no PCIe power connector, it is a sub-75W card. Just about any remotely good PSU should be enough for it. Depending on exactly which CPU and other hardware you have, even a good 200W PSU would be enough.

Well, it looks like a Core2 or similar by the chipset.

I just never see quality 200 watt units shipped with systems

If it makes the OP feel any better, I run a i5 750 with a gtx 650 ti on a 300 watt power supply all day long(So I know a quality 300 will last them many years with a 6670 and a 65 watt[best guess] cpu)

Even at high loads(prime was eating what GW2 was not, but had to leave a bit to stop the video card from getting bottlenecked). But this system was built for power efficiency too.

I would replace that power supply ASAP.

If it does not list actual output, chances are it is junk.

Computers run on 12/5/3.3/-12, NOT 230 volts.

Can you get an image of the sticker on the power supply or a model number?

Im sure the 6670 gddr5 would run in you rig but i would also suggest you to upgrade your PSU....to a minimum 350 as per your budget......

Its fine.

as long as it gives what the sticker says, its all good and meets the requirements(now a power house my any means, but should be fine).

Please ensure the system has the REQUIRED PCI-E slot.

AFAIK, there is no such thing as an LGA775 motherboard without PCIe x16 slot unless it has on-board discrete GPU which is highly uncommon outside server boards.

Depends on your budget, what outputs are you looking for and if those don't matter then get the highest default clocked card cuz that's what really matters on a GPU. Give us a budget.

ASUS looks to be clocked the highest and make sure you get DDR5 memory. It's 2x faster than DDR3.

Might be a typo from your part but way too many people are (still) making that mistake.
