Hi, I recently bought and built my own computer, I'm very proud of it and spent a lot of time researching into what components to get. About 6 months before I got my Pc my brother purchased one from a website where you pick the parts and they build it for you. When my Pc arrived he said that his was better and that his would out preform mine. He thinks that I Don't know that much about computers, but I do.

So I would like your help to prove to him mine is superior. I went into his room and noted down his components. Could you rank both rigs out of 10 please, based on quality and performance.

His Components:

GPU - R7770-PMD1GD5
CPU - Intel Core I5-3470
Mobo - MSI H61M-P25 (Micro atx)
Psu - 500w Unknown
Case - Novatech Galaxy III
Cooling - Intel Heatink and 3 fans from case
Ram - GeIL Green Series Dual Channel Memory 8 GB
Hard Drive - Generic 320gb

My Rig:

GPU - GTX 770 Gainward Over Clocked
CPU - Intel i5 357k Over clocked
Ram - 16gb Corsair Vengence
Case - Nzxt Phantom 410 Orange and Black
PSU - Corsair Cx750m
Hard Drive 1TB Western Digital
Cooling - Ray Storm AX 240 Kit and 5 times Corsair Sp 120

Cost of His Including Monitor = £900
Cost of Mine Including Monitor = £1200

Out of 10 rank them both please :)

Solution
His I would say a 7/10, yours I would say 8.5/10.

For you to get higher, I would have added a SSD.

For your brother to be higher, I would like to see a branded power supply, a SSD, and a stronger GPU.

Not that either one is bad though.

Thanks, I was planning on getting a SSD within a month or so because I hear very good things about them. Would you think 120gb is enough for windows and maybe 2 games?
Also any other upgrades you would recommend?

I run my windows on a 120gb and I'm happy with it. Just be sure you have a ton of more room on another drive. Get a program called steam mover so you can move your games from drive to drive as you get new games ect.

Ok thanks for the help ;)

I have my Windows on a SSD as well, and I find it really difficult to go back to a regular hard drive. Its enough for Windows and 2 games with a little to spare. Its really nice to have programs on it that do not run quickly.
