Hello all and thanks in advance for any advice.

I am looking to build a new machine and wanted some advice from some pro builders on which CPU/Mobo/GPU combo would best suit my needs. Here's the main points:

1. I can spend up to $3200.
2. I don't need a monitor.
3. I use Revit a lot and 3DS Max some.
4. I play Final Fantasy XIV:ARR on the same machine. That's the only game at the present.
5. I'm already planning on a Titan GPU mainly because its the strongest single card solution and 3DS Max's iRay rendering engine can't utilize more than one card at a time, so SLi wouldn't help me.
6. I really basically am just asking should I go socket 2011 or 1150 in the end. That's the biggest puzzler for me. I don't want to bottleneck the GPU.
7. I can't afford Quadros or Xeons.
8. I know that Revit/3DS Max need different things for a video game. I just need te strongest mid ground I can get without going Quadros and Xeons.

Thanks to anyone with experience with this situation that has some advice.

With that budget, LGA 2011 would be my choice. 4930k is a good option. As far as graphics cards, I would hold off. AMD's new cards are set to be released in a couple weeks and should shake up the pricing a bit.

1150 is more into gaming with the x87 motherboards.
2011 is what you need with a x79 is more into the rendering and video editing stuff or some 3DS max.
A good motherboard is ASUS SABERTOOTH X79. You have best components in this one and it is one of the safest x79 motherboard, also 8 RAM slots! ( The only limitation is the DDR3 RAM speed wich is 1 866 MHz ).

DON'T GO AMD!
Titan is more for developers and for someone working with Maya or *3DS!

I agree with logainofhades, wait a bit for the new NVIDIA GTX 8xx series and the AMD's new VGA's and the price will drop for the titan! Aaand the i7 4930K is the CPU you need!
