I'm in college now and the classes are boring and easy. Fortunately, we are allowed to use our laptops to take "notes". Anyone know where I can find a mouse with silent buttons so I don't get caught surfing the internet? If any of you are already using it, how silent are they?

Good reviews and there's a video test for you in the first review.

I don't hear well so I'm the wrong person to answer this question but I just must ask: Are you saying that you can actually hear mouse clicks? If you're using a laptop why not use the touchpad? Don't tell me you can hear that.

Touch pads are like girls, they're gross.

Well, I don't disagree about the touchpads although they seem to have found a place in computer land. Girls, on the other hand do have at least 3 redeeming ass-ets.

I really hate laptop touchpads. Annoying to use.

We use a laptop in our living room & the sound of the mouse clicking drives me up a wall!!! Yes, I hear every click on the wireless mouse and on the laptop (mouse) buttons. Why isn't MS all over this already?!

My question is: Why hasn't this been thought of decades ago? I think some company in Korea made the first one back in 2010.

Like I said before, I find touch pads annoying and uncomfortable. I bought the silent mouse. It should come in the mail next week.

I'm a fan of silent mousing. I regularly google to find new silent mouses (that's how I found this thread), unfortunately only a few companies seems to be interested in silencing.
The problem with mouse click noises is that they are totally unnecessary in terms of providing feedback to the user (assuming that the user doesn't have some kind of physical/mental disability), while mouse clicks do disturb people in your environment. (Even if people say they don't bother, they will hear it, which will cause a drop in their mental focus.) The only feedback that normal people need, is tactile feedback, not clicking noise feedback. Tactile feedback is simply provided by the feel of the mouse button hitting the bottom.

There are a number of people who want silent mouses. Also see the requests on Logitechs forum:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:forums.logitech.com...

I own:
-2x JSCO JNL-101K
-1x Nexus SM-8000

The Nexus SM-8000 is the worst mouse that I have ever had. Not in terms of noise, but the tracking is very bad and worse: it's not balanced (on a horizontal area, not all four mouse feed can touch the surface).
The JSCO JNL-101K is fine for me, although the second one has an usb connector that feels a bit loose when putting it in my Macbook Pro.

I hope that more companies will start to produce silent mouses. I'm looking for a high quality wired one with 5 mouse buttons including horizontal+vertical scroll, reduced weight and durable low resistance feet.

I think JSCO invented the silent mouse. That was my first choice but they had outrageous shipping charges because it was being sent from Korea. Instead, I bought a Chinese BornD mice. So far I am impressed and it is very quiet; however, the build quality is questionable.

OMG that comic is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat. I've been through two jsco JNLs. Very good mouse, but not durable. right and left clicker stops registering after 4-6months. the other silent mice on amazon have received poor reviews, gonna try the silenz branded one, and the r-horse mouse advertised for under $8 shipped on ebay. Anyone find a silent mouse they liked?

here's a more expense r-horse review thats pretty positive. Not advertised as silent unlike the cheaper one, so I decided against it.
