Been trying to get my Ram to work for a while but nothing works.

Specified clock of that ram is 1866mhz with 9-10-9-27 timings.
Setting the ram manually to those settings means the memory won't boot. Activating the only XMP profile renders the same problem.

When I keep the Auto settings for the ram and increase the FSB I would have to push it up to 280mhz which feels like quite a lot. (And won't boot. not to mention it will be hard to cool it with air)

I tried to get it to work with a FSB of 240mhz, to achieve at least 1600mhz but don't know what else I need to change to make it boot.

Any ideas?

Is your memory in the supported list? http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/memory_ga-970a-ud3.pdf

Also, have you updated your bios? On their website it states two things...

1) To enable AM3+ AMD FX-Series CPU support, please update your motherboard with the most current BIOS found in your motherboard’s download section.

2) (Note 2) To support a DDR3 1866 MHz (and above) memory, you must install an AMD AM3+ CPU first.

Perhaps the motherboard is not recognizing the cpu properly due to outdated bios and therefore wont recognize memory properly?

Just a thought.
