this is the only downgrade info I could find from Sony http://www.sony-asia.com/support/subtype/windows7info/560243/product/vgn-cr353 I don't know if it'll help or not

Okay, wasn't sure about that link, I've run into a few of those (from Sony and others). Basically, they're telling you that you're on your own as far as support.
Here's what to do, download SPECCY (free edition works fine) which will tell you all about the hardware inside your computer. Find the webcam info there, then search for drivers for it
